Locks in canals and rivers help boats overcome different water levels. They act as water 'elevators' and ensure safe passage between higher and lower levels. We only have a few locks in Denmark, but if you want to sail abroad it can be important to master lock techniques in order to navigate efficiently and safely.
The Göta Canal
